Update: there is now a Command Center that is coordinating the relief effort in Richwood.  Information regarding:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is now setting up their Command Center at City Hall, Second Floor.  They will be taking applications and working with business owners and residents from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

The National Guard medical unit/dispensary has move to Camden Family Health Center (the former office of Doctor Joe Dawson).  The office is located at 58 East Main Street, Richwood, WV 26261.  Phone number is: 304-846-2608.   Again, you can obtain tetanus shots/inoculations and general medical supplies (band-aides, rubbing alcohol, etc.)

And finally, the “boil water” alert has been lifted.  Richwood water customers can now use water safely.  We are on the rebuild.

Disaster Relief…

As most are now aware, Richwood, WV was the scene of a sever storm; with record setting flooding and mudslides.  The cleanup has begun.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Guard, Richwood City Hall and the Richwood Volunteer Fire Department are providing a coordinated recovery effort for the  area.    Many are in need of disaster assistance.  To obtain disaster assistance online, please click here.

Persons receiving assistance through the WV-Department of Health and Human Resources (WV-DHHR) should also apply.  There are several forms of assistance available to affected families.

DHHR Representatives will be in Richwood today, June 28, 2016, until 3:30 pm.  They will be in Richwood tomorrow, June 29, 2016, from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm.  They will be assisting with SNAP and EBT benefits.

The National Guard has set up a mobile hospital unit/dispensary.  They, as well as the Nicholas County Health Department, will be giving tetanus shots to those in need.  Please visit Richwood City Hall, the Richwood Library and/or the mobile unit located behind the State Farm Insurance Office for medical assistance.

Fundraising

In the coming months we will be hosting bake sales, raffles and other endeavors to assist in raising both awareness and funds.  We are tasked with becoming self-sufficient.  We believe that with continued community support, we will be Cope Center Logosuccessful in raising the money needed to provide services to our growing clientele.
