As most are now aware, Richwood, WV was the scene of a sever storm; with record setting flooding and mudslides. The cleanup has begun. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Guard, Richwood City Hall and the Richwood Volunteer Fire Department are providing a coordinated recovery effort for the area. Persons receiving assistance through the WV-Department of Health and Human Resources (WV-DHHR) should also apply. There are several forms of assistance available to affected families.
DHHR Representatives will be in Richwood today, June 28, 2016, until 3:30 pm. They will be in Richwood tomorrow, June 29, 2016, from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm. They will be assisting with SNAP and EBT benefits.
The National Guard has set up a mobile hospital unit/dispensary. They, as well as the Nicholas County Health Department, will be giving tetanus shots to those in need. Please visit Richwood City Hall, the Richwood Library and/or the mobile unit located behind the State Farm Insurance Office for medical assistance.
Richwood is a resilient community. It will rebuild.
